Today I finished the grout in the utility room in Pembroke and moved the appliances back. It totally changes the look of the room. Not only is it beautiful, it is more durable and easy to clean than the old floor. Everyone just loves it!
We have finished the grout which is a Power Grout by Tec and has the same characteristics of epoxy. It is waterproof, colorfast and never has to be sealed. In the first picture I am wiping it down for the third time. The next picture shows it completely finished with the furniture moved back in. The clients will repaint the cabinets at a later date. The utility room will be finished tomorrow. This is a floor that is really nice looking, easy to clean, yet rugged and suits well for a household with pets and grandchildren that are in and out.
We just started this renovation today and have ripped out the old flooring and started to install 18 by 18 inch porcelain which looks very much like travertine but is much tougher. Stay posted for before and after pictures as the work proceeds. It took half the day to remove all appliances and rip up the old flooring, but we have made great progress. We found a leak behind the washer which the plumber is fixing tonight. Check back tomorrow for more progress.
